Serendipity: a poem

A pool day beckons

A blue sky without blemish

Scorching amber sun

Whisper of a breeze

It's touch caressing hot skin

Like a lovers kiss

Olive trees stand guard

Providing shade from their boughs

Ancient and knowing

The pool, deep, cooling

A welcome from the day's heat

Drawing me under

Then repeat - sun, shade, pool

blissful in its simple form

Serendipity
