A Thin Place by Graeme Cox

Written by Graeme Cox

Off to a thin place, to clear my head

To feel earth beneath my feet

To refill and bolster my starving soul

To find my daily bread

A good walk tells a story

It intertwines with that of your own

It can be mundane or otherworldly

It can lead to adventure, it can lead you home

I'll seek a feeling that no musing gives

And a truth I can't find in a book

Find freedom in wild places, beyond thoughts and dreams

Where all can be said with a look

In a place where time can feel absent

Yet a moment can feel so long

My old boots will carry me lightly

On the wings of a familiar song

The tangible spirit of a landscape

Elemental commune, in nature's embrace

Veil lifted, accept the welcome.

In my own space and at my own pace

Beauty around awakes beauty within

Reacquaint with things we once knew

Catharsis connects my thoughts, though they whisper

To this thin place. I'm feeling in tune

I'll return to my life, ready to live

Emotions more balanced and true

Nirvana may still be a distance away

My thin place carries me through.
